I have seen a V-Rod with the shifter on the mids and forwards. The guy was still trying to figure out how to make the foot brake mids and forwards.

Your asking for trouble. Too many places to put your feet being brake and shifter pedals will result in unexpected stops and down shifts hitting the revlimiter.........

^^^ Agreed. I'd go with whichever one you find more comfortable, and then add dummy pegs in the other position. For me, it's fowards, with mid-mounted pegs for the occasional knee bend stretch.

I wish I took a picture, but at a show recently I saw a custom that was based on a sportster engine, it had a street fighter look to it and it had rear sets and forwards which were linked together so you could shift and brake in either position.

I also have the forward with the mids only for stretching. I just leave them folded up until I want to stretch. Its nice to have.

Anybody have a good source for just the mid pegs? Or even just the mid-peg supports?

Ebay...but I suppose there aren't a lot of take-offs to buy for an '09 yet.

Yea, I was just wondering what it looked like - I agree - seems like too many options. But I heard some old timers had that setup and have been fascinated by the mechanics.

I have had that method with the highway pegs since I owned my newer bike in '03 and agree I love it. I could see eventually getting forwards, but old habits die hard.

Thanks for the discussion.
