Default Speakers on a Dyna

Looking for some small preferably amplified speakers to use on long trips. I am looking to rig a mount on my Quik Detach windshield to use with a Ipod.

The Kury ones look like they would work good but are kinda of pricey. I see lots of stuff on ebay but I know most of it is probally junk so seeing if anyone has something that working good for them.

JRK has a setup in windshield bag, I believe. I've seen a setup at a dealer that clamps bullet shaped (similar to turn signals, but bigger) speakers on the bars, with an amplifier to hide elsewhere. Wasn't cheap, $300 IIRC.

yep! i make my own, uses 2, 3 way boss speakers, and 150 watt amp, it is all quick release and self contained in a fork bag.
SCREAMS at you! funny when i video taping buddies with the girl on the back you can always hear the music jamming in the back round!
here is a old version that i did... the new one i rock only has a soft touch on and off switch, everything else is controled from the i pod or XM radio transmitter, also using the boss speakers i got rid of the tweeter cause it is just screaming loud... if anyone wants to hear it i can hook it up when i get home and give you a video of the newer set up so you can hear how crisp it gets... i hated the mickey mouse looking ears that the others have, you should HEAR a radio, NOT see it... so i made my own... took a while to get the amps made the way i wanted and the RMS to stay at the right level not to blow speakers... but works tops now! i even made a few of my buddies fiberglass ones for their rockets... GOT to have tunes while you ride!
when i pull up to bars people are always looking aroudn trying to figure out where the hell that sound si coming from!

here it is all mounted up on the bike:
i have a split line so i can power my GPS and the stereo at the same time or i can run just 1 of them as well... depends how i want to roll that day

My father just installed a set of the Kuryakyn speakers on his Road King. Can't speak to the volume and clarity, but they look ok. I have a set of the Rumble Road Premium speakers that I had installed on my old Sportster. I never got around to putting them on my Dyna, I couldn't find a spot on the mini-apes that they looked right. They were great for lower speeds, but hard to hear on the highway.

So how much does a setup like that cost? Any chance of getting a little tutorial of how you went about with the build?

I don't keep these on all of the time, but they are great fro cruising in Downtown Austin. I usually wear head phones, but it is nice to rock out while you are parked. Loud as hell without a windshield and I'm sure a lot louder with one.
