With the short shots being around $300, I think thats a good deal for pipes. If you need a little push towards the SS, the heat shields for the BR are like a $100 each! And you can only get them from V&H. Don't ask me how I know!!!
Bberk, Please consider D&D Fatcats or Python 2 into 1. You've got a sweet drag bar, and a heavy breather a/c...your pretty close to having both a "pretty" bike, and a fast bike! I think those two pipes are pretty enough to be on your bike while still putting out better numbers than the shortshots.
I run the shortshots as well (they were given to me by Mudpuddle who also went with a D&D 2 into 1) and I can tell you that they wont do much of anything except SOUND LOUD.
Hmmm! If it were me i would get the Big Radius... Its worth the extra money! You get what you pay for... beleive me... i have had both SS and Big Radius. A 2 into 1 would definitely be best for your torque etc. but two seperate pipes all the way back just looks the best in my opinion. That's my two cents... Your holdin' the money!!
I would finish what you started on the handlebars before moving on. The Sterling Chromite cables and brake line will really finish off the top.

I can say from experience the Python 2-1 is a waste of money. The performance is good but the baffles rattled out (broke into pieces) on me three times before I forced a refund of my money. I also didn't like how the 2-1 forced the HP but didn't help the torque much. HP is created at the top of the RPM range so if you like to putt in higher gears with low RPMs you can forget it, it's all about winding it out to the rev limiter to get what it wants.
From what I've heard about the short shots they just don't help performance at all so why spend the $300 when you will just turn around and spend $600 on some BSS or BR or the ProPipe a bit later on?
But back to the cables, you can get all three cables and the front brake line for less than the short shots through Dennis Kirk.
