I don't know, that derby has a beveled rim, and I think sanding would probably alter the contour of it. I definitely appreciate it though. It's not a very expensive part to replace...just sucks.

3rd bike and never dropped one yet..(knock knock)..came close though...hope i haven't jinxed myself! Gotta be a sick feeling as it goes over.....and i've seen some real damage done by even a minor spill.

Man that really sucks, last night I was admiring the pics your wife took of the bike. On the positive side at least you have really nice pics of when it was still pristine. Glad to hear the damage is minimal.
