I wish I hadn't read these posts. Mine is still new. I currently have no plans of dropping it. Maybe I could just gently lay it down then pick it back up to get the laying down thing out of the way.
I have a 30 foot broken concrete driveway with a steep slope I have to back my bike down every day to get it back into the garage. I hate these posts, but they keep it in the front of my mind.
Glad to hear there wasn't much damage and that you didn't get hurt.
I HATE saying this but I don't know any biker who hasn't dropped their bike. They always say, it's not a matter of "if" but "when".
Yeah, I told my friend that I was actually kinda glad I got it out of the way like this...that way I wouldn't do it later and do more damage.

By the time he came running over, I already had the bike back up and was putting the jiffy stand down. I told him i was actually glad it went down on that side...if it had gone down on the pipe I'd have probably thrown a small animal under a bus in a fit of rage.
Morning. I have a feeling that most of us have done that at one time or another. Loose gravel under foot can be a bitch. All I can say is " Thank God for Engine Guards ! They saved me a couple of times on my last bike and that was the first thing I added to my 08 Fat Bob. Stay Safe !
