Default shifter doesn't work?

Hey all,

Question is.....i got all the cables done and everything back together......cleaned it all up.....started it up....went to put into gear.......and the shifter went right past first gear....so, i pulled it back and it went right past second gear.....now it seams to me that something is broken because the shifter doesn't stop when it's in gear it goes past the gear........what could this be and where do i start

You took the primary off, right????

If that is the case, you MIGHT have dislodged the springs that hold the dog teeth against the shifter drum actuator...

no,

didn't take the primary cover off....just the derby cover then the spring and that first assembly to get the new cable on....

Then your clutch hub and cable are out of adjustment.....

Or you could have your shifter linkage....
