Good day; Riders. Throughout my M/C riding life I have not used a heel shifter. Currently; on my 2006 FLHTCUSE I took the heel shifter off when I got the bike and put a chrome spacer behind the toe shifter on the spline shaft.
A medical condition with my left leg now requires that I have to re-install the heel shifter and learn to ride using it.
Does it make a difference which shifter is on the front or rear of the spline?
I would prefer to keep the toe shifter on the "outside" and put the heel shifter on the "inside". Would there be any issues installing the shifters this way?
Looking at the new bikes; all have the heel shifters have been installed on the outside.
If it fits it wont be an issue as far as the mechanics go but you may not be able to put the heel shifter on the inside due to the fact that it may rub or hit the primary cover.
