Questions for you all with toe and heel shifter arms:
1. Does anyone actually use the heel shifter?
2. If you have replaced OEM toe/heel shifter arms, did you replace with another toe/heel shifter combo? If you did, did you do it for looks or do you actually use the heel shifter?
3. If you have taken the heel shifter off, any negative things noticed?
Why I'm asking: I'm planning on replacing OEM toe/heel shifter. Looking at prices, it costs twice the amount to get the toe/heel shifter arms, and, of course, half the price just to get the toe shifter arm. If I don't use the heel shifter, I don't see the reason to get the heel shifter. Also, without the heel shifter, the chrome lines on the engine are better seen. I'm also planning on getting the small chrome part that goes on the shifter bolt to keep shaft aligned and reduce wear.
I took mine off altogether. I bought the chrome spacer to replace it on the shaft and I carry the extra shifter in my saddlebag for an emergency spare. Thats about it....piece of cake with that spacer on there.
I've had it off and back on my 2004 RK, currently it is on and I'm liking it. When it was off, I just raised the front shifter enough to get a boot under it to upshift, no big deal and a quick adjustment. Keep the heel shifter in a saddle bag in case the front shifter vibrates off, trust me, it happens!
use the heel shifter on both my shovel and my ultra. Took a while to get used to, but once I did can't imagine not having it. Can't imagine how it increases vibration on the shifter arm.

Done this as well. Never could get used to the heel shifter so I decided to go ahead and remove it. Have not missed it at all plus with the spacer it brings to toe shifter out which helps me when shifting.
