Found this today while looking for a gel pad to add comfort to the stock seat for my wife. I love the stock seat on the Fat Bob and don't want to change it. Looks like I won't have to now. I have never seen one of these in person but it got rave reviews. Plan to order it soon and will let you know how it works. Best part is you can use it with a solo or pillion seat. http://www.buttybuddy.com/index.asp
I know the website address sounds like gay ****, I swear it isn't. They really should change the name.
IMHO, I don't know man, looks like it might wrinkle vinyl seat, not rigid enough, and maybe even marked your fender paint. I got a Touring seat for long trips, and swap between lowrider seat.
I have one that I have used on a HD Badlander. I haven't used it enough to tell you if it marks the seat or not. It's comfortable (according to the Mrs.) It raises her an inch or two, so it lets her stretch her legs out a little bit (she's 5'11") The arms on the sides don't support any weight, they just keep it straight on the seat. It comes with suction cups to mount to a bare fender but there is no way I would try that action. I just leave it mounted to the seat since I use a solo Bare Bones 95% of the time. It also makes your sissy bar an inch or two shorter since it raises the passenger. She noticed that right away.
Thanks for the info BluBob, how about keep us posted as you have more opportunity to use it. I really would like to keep the stock seat on the Fat Bob, it is super comfortable for me. I was considering a saddlemen explorer seat but this would save be quite a bit of cash.
Doesn't look like they thought very much about safety. That is, unless you don't mind if your passenger falls off the bike. I personally would not want to have to stop quickly or take off quickly with that on top of the seat. Butt then again....to each his own.
