I just wanted to throw this out there for the newbies like me. Expecially those that are going to try their own wrenching.
I recently tried to go the cheap route and bought the Haynes manual for my bike. I can't tell you how bad the manual was. the instructions for the clutch where lacking and pretty much limited to the cable tensioner. The oile change info was incorrect as to which bolts had oil. Not to mention it didn't even tell me how much oil to put in.
I ended up buying the harley manual. it has detailed pictures and step by step instructions for pretty much everything you could want to do.
Got mine for Christmas, and I absolutely love it. I've always had Clymer ones for other bikes, but for this one I went with the HD one and am glad I did.

Now take your manual to KInkos and have them spiral bind it. It was about the best $5.00 I ever spent. Make the manual 100% better and much more user friendly.
ordered mine couple weeks ago, made the same mistake and bought Haynes,
wonder if there's a sucker out there that will... naw never mine.
I'll use it as a brake for my tool box.......
The service manual should be the FIRST thing you buy!!!
I waited on getting it because $60 seemed a little pricey to me for a stack of paper and some ink. Boy was I wrong! That "stack of paper" costs less than one hour of service. The service manual and a good jack will pay for themselves after the first two or three uses.
