I'm a bit over 5' 10" and I don't have any problems with the forward controls.

I'm 6'2" with long legs. My FB has forward controls, or I'd look like a grasshopper with mids.

5'10" here with mids...love the control it gives me. I bought my bike at San Diego HD, and they have me the option of having mids or forwards. I think a lot of a rider's preference is probably based of course on their height, but also physical condition. The HD website shows the 08 and 09 Fat Bob with Forwards. If I was smarter then I woulda asked for the cost of the mids to be applied to a credit or something.

here is my issue, i know they say find a bike that fits, but after a month of owning mine, i noticed a nagging in my right ankle, it kinda sucks, maybe its footplacement, if it was my left i would keep it on the primary

You can always add dummy mid pegs. Gives you another foot spot when you start to ache.

I have the forward controlls on my 08 fat bob and love it. I'm 5' 10" and wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm 6'3" and have forward controls. I added highway pegs and actually put my heal on the forwards and the front of my boot on the highway pegs for typical riding. I sit back as far as possible with my heels lodged between the forwards and the highway pegs for long distance comfort. Mids would make my thighs cramp. Go for the Fat Bob with forwards, you won't regret it.

I'm 5'7" and no problems with Forward Controls. I'm thinking of getting the Heel Rests but I'm afraid they'll stick out to far.

I've been wondering the same thing, if you end up putting them on let us know how they are. As for the topic of the post I'm 5'8 and the forwards are a perfect fit.
