Default Ok, I'm starting slow

I am getting some parts powdercoated. Brake lever, brake rod, shift lever, shift linkage along with 3" extended Kury ISO pegs and stirrups. Also I am going to change out the cowbell horn cover for this eagle with an amber LED eye. All will be semi gloss black. Also a pair of 1.25" Fatboy bars that I am planning on to put on as well, or have it done. Not sure I am up to that task. I was quoted $200 for labor including wiring internally. Dealer wanted 500.

I realize I am nowhere near the expertise or experience of some on this forum, but we all have to start somewhere.

Here's a couple of pics of things as they stand now.

Join the club yo... I just dropped off my exhaust shields to the powdercoater on Monday, Will be dropping off other parts sporadically as the weather here is crappy still. Next will be the horn cover, Fender strut covers, and turn signal housings probably... looks good.

Hey man, that is way cool. We al get there one step at a time. Love the powercoating thing. Not outrageously expensive for a super durable finish.

I'm not very mechanical either, just search for my clutch pack post as evidence. But, I would say get the manual, and I don't think you will have too much trouble with the items you want to accomplish.

bakerm75, thanks for the vote of confidence. I have the manual and the parts catalog and have been reading. I still am unsure about changing out cables and brake lines. From what I have seen on this forum, some have an easier time than others. It will probably boil down to how much time I have available versus lost riding time.

Update:
While waiting for my parts to be powdercoated, I decided to put on the black flush mount gas cap and fuel gauge. I got the one that said it would fit an "08 softail except Rocker (Part Number 75014-08). I found that it was easier for me to raise the front of the tank to reach the wire plug easier. Just stuffed a small towel under the front and raised it about 2 inches. The whole thing was fairly easy to do, although it took me a bit of time to detach the old fuel gauge wires from the plug. I didn't want to cut them in case I wanted to go back to stock or sell them in the future. I took a pic of the plug before I took it apart to use as a guide when I put the wires in the new plug. Fit is excellent and looks great! I am very pleased with the way it came out.

Well, it took longer than I thought it would but now this phase is complete. I got Sterling Chromite cables installed on satin black FLSTF 1.25" bars. Also had the foot controls powdered satin black as well. The new riding position is much more comfortable for me. Here's a couple of pics.
