With the threaded post removed from your old brackets and placed in the new bracket (wide tire bracket) you now have two 3/8 threaded posts. This will work great for an application I am looking at. The Cycle Vision removable saddle bag hardware are 3/8 bolts

I wonder if the Softail attachment points, meaning the hardware, (strut and bag), will work on a Dyna bag? The bolt sizes are the same, 3/8x16. I just wonder if spacing between strut and bag are enough. I am considering the new Rigid lockable HD bag, # 91615-09
