noticed that the cardboard doesn't go in very good. Tried to jang it in there, but it won't go. I get MAYBE 1/16" in before it starts to deform the cardboard. Is that all that needs to go in? It doesn't seem to be doing much (the cardboard that is...).

Wow -- I just replaced my grips and levers ('08 UC) and can't believe the instructions tell you to open and empty the front brake reservoir. WTF? Are they just trying to sell extra brake fluid or steer service toward the stealer?! Seriously not necessary. I don't even do the cardboard thing anymore. Once you see how it goes together (i.e., once you break the little plunger), you can remove and replace the lever carefully without breaking the switch.

I must say the grip replacement on the FBW throttle is a piece of cake. No more loosening cables on the carb and dropping those tiny brass thingies on the grip-end cables.
