Saw this nice Wide Glide "05" (3,100 miles) and it's just been marked down by $3,500 as they need to get ride of some bikes due to new stock.
I have only seen a pic from the HD dealer as this bike/dealer is about a 7+ hr drive away but it seems to be quite a good price and bike looks nice (so far).
Now here is my worry. They said the bike has come from Dubai and had some sand in it but they have said they have cleaned it, inspected it etc. They also said a few of the bolts are starting to rust. Should I be worried about this?
The bike does come with a 1 yr warranty.
I just need some advice because I want to know all I can when I go see the bike and what to look out for etc.
Marked down by $3,500 cause nobody wants it. I would buy from a private owner for a better deal than a dealer can do.
Mike
Just saw you are from Norway, the answer above I would give to somebody in the states but in your case there are probably not a lot of bikes available. It would still have to be dirt cheap for me to move on it.
I think it's one hell of a nice bike, and if you want it, go deal with them. A year warranty sounds pretty good. Buy it, run the guts out of it, and if it breaks, due to potential sand in the primary/crank case it'll probably do it with in the first year. JMO.
Oldmike...I am in Norway so bikes here are not the same price as over there. For example..Harley's START at $35,000 here so being I am originally from US and know the US prices for them..****'s me off but what can ya do? Tis why I/we are looking to buy a used model.
yoseppi...I will surely haggle IF we go for the bike because my husband hates doin' that **** lol. I am a great bargain hunter so I will surely see what I can get IF we go for it but I want to make sure I can get all the info I canbefore going so I know what to look for etc so i can use it in my favor when I haggle the price!
jaysonL...yes, it is a nice bike but I/we would change the exausts with some Big Radius V&H pipes to start with.
LOL jmpancoast you trying to tell us something about your past or what hehe.
Ok I have no idea what they are asking $,but I just picked up the same exact thing same miles with no windshield for 10K here from a private party. With absolutely no rust or sand
Well...importing a bike is a wonderful idea BUT the paperwork is so much work and takes a long time and we want a bike ASAP and with importing in can take a few months :/
