Default Got forwards installed (PICS)

So today with the 80degree weather we took a cruise to the dealer and it was packed! I've wanted forwards since getting the bike a year ago, but was waiting till this season to get them.

They had them in stock so I pulled the trigger and had them installed. It's going to take me a little bit to get used to them. I'm only 5'8 or so and it does feel like a bit of a reach but I think I just need to get used to how to place my feet on them. At first I think I had more of my toe/front of my foot on the pedal and it was making my shins a little sore. That and I was probably tense for the first time riding with them.

While riding home, I started moving my foot higher up on the pedal so more of my heel was on them, which took some of the stress off my shin and felt more comfortable, but was a slightly further reach.

I've been thinking about having my seat redone by the guy on here who redoes stock seats so that I'd be moved up an inch or two. That would probably do the trick and I'd be good to go. I've also thought about stirrups, but I don't know if that would be the right solution. Then the front of my foot would be more on the pedals with my heels on the stirrups. That would probably be less of a reach, but then I'd have to move my foot forward to hit the rear break.

I think I'll get more and more used to them as I ride, as I could tell my overall stance on the bike was a bit more laid back which was good. Now I just need to get the Kuryakyn Widow brake pad and shift ped and I'll have the full control setup!

looks good!

I just picked up the same ones, paid for with chrome cash. I haven't installed them yet.

I'm 5'9" and was wondering how they'd effect me. Thanks for the info.

You will get used to them I felt the same way with mine on my 06 I also am only 5'7" . On my 08 I have the stirrups but have not yet ridden it with them on. Still trying to get my mods finished up.

Ya, I'm trying to decide which route to go, whether I should spend $100 on the stirrups or $100 on a seat mod that moves me up an inch. Eventually I might end up with both, but we'll see.

stirrups are a great comfort . I think you should try them first. They can do wonders.

What did it cost you total? If you don't mind me asking.
