Just wanting to get some opinions on this situation.
I recently removed my Vance & Hines FP and Alen Ness Big Sucker of my bike , I only have some Cycle Shack Slipons now. During a ride Sunday I got on it and during the decel the bike backfired and then when I came to a stop the bike started to stumble and wanted to die, it would have if I hadn't keep giving it throttle. Again today on the way to work it did the same thing . Any clues or input would be greatly appreciated. I originally got the FP for the little bit of backfiring.
LOL, That would be the easy way, but I sold the unit. Had to get funds to pay for the bike. The automotive industry is not quite paying all the bills right now
My bike does that sometimes when its cold, and I have stabile in the tank.
I hate running the stuff, runs like crap until you get a fresh tank in. Then it runs fine.
Mine did just the same. Never had a problem with it even after installing my pipes, AC and PCIII. Then towards the end of last season i put a wideglide stock seat on for a longer ride (first time using it on the bike) and it cut out on me 5 or 6 times. Either at a stop sign or even while at 65mph. I got it home, checked for error codes and while i dont remember the exact code it had something to do with a short with my instrument counsel. I think the seat actually pinched off the wire running up to the speedo. Changed the seat and it never did it again. I was never able to repeat it. If it does it again i'll get it into the dealer for a look. I checked all my PCIII connections, spark plugs, etc. Everything looked normal. I even changed the map on the PCIII to a similar one. Never did it again. Go figure.
