we are all stupid we send our **** local and get crap!!! Hey look a hd forum member Joe Knapp he goes buy JRK5892 does powder coating!!!!! I think you have to be a bike guy to do bike parts so you have the passion. MAYBE WE SHOULD GET IT DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME JOE CAN DO IT!!!
alot of times it is cheaper to take it to your local guy man... i love the up's do not get me wrong... but it all boils down to the $$$ sometimes... there are alot of VERY good coaters (powdercoater for example, with final touch) that are out there that can do a BANGING job local for you and you can save on the shipping (that can get you sometimes)
thanks for the kind word man... put a smile on my face after a **** day in the office! ha ha ha i am going from here into the shop to lay some powder... that always makes me feel better!
Damn, looks bad@ss Hog!! I need to get me some superglide rims ASAP! I've been wanting to do that for a while now.
Did you have to change the pulley/belt for the change? Was there anything else involved, or was it a straight bolt on? And you had to use the rotos from a SG as well, right?
Thanks guys, I love the look with the black mags. My wife thinks they made my bike look scary. I haven't contacted the coater yet, it's was the first time I used him. I will be talking to him next week to let him know how upset I am with his work. He did the work in trade for future fab work from me. I did give $40 cash for sand blasting, but I have a feeling he skipped the blasting and put that money in his pocket. Like I said I'm just gonna ride through the summer and work on recoating next winter.

I traded wheels with a '07 FXD and since I have a '06 pully's aren't interchangable. Rear rotors are the same, front rotors are different between mags and spokes.
whole bike looks sick. too bad bout the ****ty powder though. found a great local place by me. great work and quick turnaround. what more can you ask for.
Looks alright from here, honestly a good rattle can job wouldn't flake off that easy.I'm also loving the OD green and would like to see more of it,maybe the dash, AC cover, headlight trim ring whatever.
