I've never had anything stolen all the times I've been to Sturgis or any of the other rallies for that matter (and no I'm not nieve). I believe bikers at events are some of the most honest people on this earth. People as a rule don't mess with your s**t.

I took a long strip of velcro and ran it through my luggage rack and handle of my t-bag. While it was hooked to the bike and bag I made a hole through the strap and used a padlock. Anyone with a knife can still steal your bag, but it's good for the honest people.

You may ne right aboug the bikers, but big events attract more than just "bikers" (unfortunately)

I use a cable lock to lock my two bags, helmet, and jacket.

Cable locks. Easy to store on the bike. They will still take your stuff but it takes a little more effort.

OK BUT there was a guy at Sturgis a couple years ago that got caught with a few bikes in the back of his trailer. He was stealing them from the Harley Dealer (in Rapid City) in broad daylight during Sturgis Week and he and his woman and son were all carrying guns. I had the same type of concerns when I started riding but I soon found that most guys who ride bikes are pretty cool. On the other hand nobody wants their *** kicked by a bunch of bikers. I would say relax and have fun and don't be so paranoid. Get some good insurance. Don't insult the biker community by thinking we're a bunch of thieves just because you watch too much TV. No offense. And if you do catch someone stealing your stuff beat the livin sh*t out of them so they can learn some respect.
