Anyone have any experience/feedback on this Hoppe batwing fairing with the stereo? Seems it could be a good quality alternative to the MS. The MS is $300 and the stereo setup is another $400...

Will this fairing with the hogtunes radio work with my speedo and tach mounted on the handlebar clamp? I was wondering if anyone has this setup on their narrow glide FXD.
Hey MH! My understanding is that it won't fit with the handlebar mounted gauges. Mine is on backorder for another 2 weeks, but I think I can rig a bracket to move my gauges onto the lower handlebar clamp to keep them out of the way of the hogtunes set up. I'll post pics when I get it. One way or another it is going on!

The ones offered at your Dennis Kirk link, dont look anything like the ones installed on your bike.
I like what your B/W looks like. Did you order without seeing an actual version of what you would get? You lucked out.
All of the B/W's I've seen so far have an opening under the headlight, Yours appear to incircle you headlight, much cleaner.
If you get the time, I would really love to see more detailed photos, expecally mounting shots.. and shots under the headlight.
If you need to take it off for any adjustment or such. Please take some shots while its off the bike.
Many of us have been waiting to see Memphis Shades version for the Dyna familly, But their PR dept just keep releasing stock shots of their earlier models.
Thanks for your help

How does the size of the aftermarket fairings compare to the stock street glide fairing?

Ronn i agree with what your saying. This one actually fits the stock headlight as upposed to buying a bigger 7" headlight that protrudes out further than needed. I am waiting for those better pics.

Keep the pics comming

I'm expecting it before the end of the month. I guess Drag Specialties didn't realize just how popular the fairing was gonna be for the Dyna's. They sold out within days of their first order. I'll post before and after photo's. Suppposed to be a complete bolt-on setup. Except for the gauges. I'll post it as "New MS Batwing". Later bro!

Yeah, SH, i'd like to see how you got around the handlebar clamp mounted gauges.

I called Reckless Motorcycles out of TN (http://recklessmotorcycles.com/home.htm) and the fella I spoke said that they are coming out with a fairing w/stereo specific for a Dyna. Seems there is a huge market for these, a ton of manufacturers are coming out with these.

I have a MS sportshield on my 02 FXD since it was new, and 47k miles later the quality in it has been proven. MS is good stuff.

I think it's also a commentary on how many people read these boards. As of last Spring
there was El Zippo interest in manufacturing Dyna fairings and after about 10 of us did it
and generated a hell of a lot of postings about what we'd done and how we did it, all of
a sudden every manufacturer seems to be jumping on the bandwagon.

Personally, I'm glad to see them doing so, but I have to wonder just WTF was wrong with
them not to have tapped into this market before?
