I know the last couple of times I filled up it was with the "new" EPA summer blend. I live in Atlanta. I have noticed definite problems since the summer blends started. I have one of the new EFI systems on the 06 Dyna.
There is some hesitation (lower combustion? or less efficient?) definite HP loss and torque loss. I just had the bike checked and everything mechanically is great. The only thing that makes sense that has changed is the new gas blend.
Has anyone else experienced this or connected the dots yet?
Check and see if you have the 8 degree injectors. Look at the injectors from the left side of the bike and if you see the #27625-06 you have the 8 degrees the 25 degrees # is27709-06a. My bike started doing the same thing when I was going to the Doctor and pass the HD store, the check engine light would come on and go off. I then brought it to the dealer before going to Doc. They have the bike at the shop and will not work on it till May 11.

All ready did it and I am good to go. No injector problem. I do not know that it is the ethanol garbage but I am suspicious.
i can answer your ethanol question, drian some fuel from the bottom of your tank into a clear jar, if thier is any water or phased material you should see it. you can also add food coloring and shake, if the colloring falls to the bottom withing two minutes there mays be water present, if the coloring stays in all the fuel and dosnt fall out it is clean. sorry but only the state can test for the octaine rating. did your area just go to ethanol?
Yep, my Ultra is pinging more than in the Winter months. I thought it was the air temp, but now think it's the fuel. My state uses 10% ethonol at some stations.

Yeah, I'm in Augusta, and noticed the same issues along with some hesitation at times. I just blamed the suspected loss of power to me getting use to her. Maybe not? I'm getting a race fueler and pipes soon (damn pipes been on order for 1 month now). I hope for some improvements.
We get $hit gas here......water.....dirt.....we have no state standards so it's hit & miss. But we have Marathon Oil Co which uses no alcohol and they are pretty good 90% of the time. But, I have the 8 degree injectors and need them changed out at the 1,000 service.
I also get the Cleveland Gas region Fuel. The MTBE is being phased out and More Ethanol. If you ride you Bike around the state you will also notice, Cleveland market runs 15 to 20 cents higher per gallon.
