I took advantage of Harley's sportster trade in and I am now the new owner of a 2009 Black Super Glide. I can't wait for it to warm up so I can ride it.
The dealer in Mandan, ND was wonderful and gave me a lot of respect.
I think you will really like it, i talked with a guy a couple days ago at a local dealer who had done the same thing (Sporty trade). he was really happy
If i knew the 2007 Super Glide Custom looked like they do with all the upgrades i would have bought one instead of my 2006 Street Bob .. I should have waited or did some research , Good Luck with your new bike !

so how exactly does it work you just ride a sportster around for a year and than you trade it in for a big twin, and they take the MSRP of the sporty off the big twin and you just have to pay the extra?

Exactly! Except that I had a 2 year old 2007 xl1200c. They gave me back full MSRP (which was $9695) and I paid $12,999 for the 2009 Superglide Custom. The trade in program is good until March 31 and includes all sportsters 2007 and newer.
Dang six days is just not enough time to get down and choose one esp. being in college haha, i am sure they will bring it back someday otherwise SOL for now. sounds like an awesome deal tho.
