I just spent some wrench time on my wife's FatBob cos she's been bithin about how quiet her SE pipes are. Ever wondered why the SE pipes are so quiet? Well, they're totally blocked off. Would expect SE pipes to be better flowing with some back pressure. Easy mod though,
1. Pullled off the pipes
2. Removed the exhaust tips
3. With a steel pipe, knocked out the baffles
4. At the sealed end, cut off about 50% (I got a shop with a plasma torch to cut it off)
5. Shove the baffles back in
6. Installed the exhaust tips and assembled the pipes back
Now they sound sweet, not too loud but they don't sound like a sewing machine. All for the price of a cuppa java for use of their plasma torch.
