Default Preventing fender scratches with throwovers...

So I'm looking at a set of River Road compact slant bags for my Street Bob because I like the idea of something that fits between the shocks and the turn sigs w/o having to relocate anything. I also like the ease of the throwovers, but I'm worried about damage to fender. I will probably get the bag supports you can get that attach to the struts to keep the bags away from the bike, but what can I do to help keep the fender looking nice?

I found this made by Fox Creek, but not sure if the size of it would match up, but it might work...

Anyways, I wanted to see what some of you might have done to keep your fenders from getting ruined with throwovers.

thanks.

I just that grip padding stuff that keeps carpets from slipping. I just can't think of what it's called right now. Had it under my bags for a year now and looking good.
