Default finished changing...

the ffin torx heads to allen heads today. I now have 0 torx head bolts on my bob. I am so glad to be rid of those. If any of you are interested I got them all from fastenal, even the metric ones on the front end. I will post pics later if anyone cares to see.

Don

You know when you strip the points out of a torx bolt you now have an allen head bolt.

the hand controls were the last ones I had to do and my buddy from fastenal brought them to me today. When I replaced the ones for the front caliper he gave me a box of 50 for each one.So now I have 49 extras of those if anyone is interested. I couls probably send them out for the cost of a stamp.

Can't speak from an engineering perspective but from practical, end-user perspective, I think they are a weaker tool/fastener that can't handle torque like an Allen. My $.02

I don't mind the torx bolts. It's the stupid chrome ones that I hate. Damn rust accumulation in the head of those chrome allen bolts.
