Default cold weather start up

when i turn on my bike for the first time after it's been sitting in the cold, the fuel pump makes a screaching, grinding sound.
once the bike is warm and i start it up again, the fuel pump sounds normal.
is this normal or has anyone had the same problem?
the bike starts fine, it just sounds sick.
08 street bob
thanks

Mine is doing the same thing! Still not very warm here in Michigan. Scared me when I first heard it. I'm hoping about June it will be normal again.

Consider the noise normal. My 06 Street Bob has done it off and on for 3 years now warm or cold - no issues with starting or performance.

Me personally, if the bike is under warranty, absolutely. What is it gonna cost to have them look at it, that is if you have a decent dealer. I would make sure that you can reproduce the noise though once you get it there, just so they have proof that something is not quite right.

And to answer the second part of your question, mine sounds like a fuel pump when I turn mine on and its cold, no grinding etc...

P.S Bobber S you need to get the scissors moving on your avatar like mine, so we can see what shes got!!
