07 Street Bob if you couldn't tell...just about to hit 30k on the clock. This issue occurs on first starts in the morning or after leaving it for maybe 3-4 hours. I turn the key then hit the kill switch and hear it priming. Hit the starter and it chugs for a good 4-6 seconds before starting. Starts every time after the chugging but it never has an instant start unless I had it running within the last hour or so. Even then I've had it chug for a couple seconds before starting. The closer to the time of shut off, the faster it starts.
I've read about the pinholes in the fuel line, which certainly sounds like it could be the culprit. I experience no other bogging issues when cruising, this is the only issue I'm having. One other thing to note, if this matters- occasionally during priming, it sometimes sounds like it's changing tones instead of a even hum as it primes, if that makes sense. It occasionally will start off with the normal hum then make a higher pitch hum then return to the normal hum all within the typical 3-4 seconds the priming can be heard. Is this just the sound of losing fuel through the line? Failing pump? The odd sounding priming rarely occurs and the hard starts are not dependent on that. Thanks.
I would have your fuel pressure checked. That will tell you quite a bit as to whether your pump is working right, or losing pressure through pinholes...etc.
Other than that.. possibly plugs. Never had this issue... mine barely gets in one revolution before it basically leaps into the air.
Stock motor and computer yes...no changes to it. Got it a few months back with stock AC and vance and hines straight shots. I'll try both of the other suggestions in the meantime though, thanks for the responses.

One other possible thing... when you hit the kill switch, let the pump finish priming before you try to start it. .. I say this because your description of the sequence seems to elude to the fact you're not waiting for the pump to hit peak pressure and shut off.. .and possibly the POST (power on self test) has not finished yet ( engine light goes off ).
Take the fuel cap off, and turn on ignition and when you switch the run/stop switch to run listen for a spraying sound in the fuel tank. Charge the battery and have it tested, the battery may be on it's last leg.

I've done your first recommendation...I thought I heard some spraying when below 2/3's of a tank (roughly). Also to the previous poster, I DO wait for the full cycle then check engine light off before hitting the starter. My original description did not make that very clear. Been a busy couple weeks but this is still on my to do list. Thanks for the continued suggestions, I'll report back once I know anything more.
