How often do you oil your K&N filter?

Mine seemed to get dry pretty quick. Ive had them on trucks and quads before and didnt have to oil that often. I guess with sitting directly in the wind and sun its going to need it alot more often.

I have to do mine about every 1000 miles or so here in the Phoenix area. It is just very dusty here all the time and the sun either bleaches or somehow removes the oil from the filter. Always tell a difference on the exposed side. I figure too often is better than not often enough.

oh good point. I should add that (and maybe obviously) I do not use my rain sock so mine is very exposed to the sun.

Ok thanks guys

I guess I had a little over 1k on it since I put the filter on, so guess thats going to be the time frame. Maybe even sooner once it gets really hot.

I leave mine uncovered as well.

Mine is exposed too. I'd guess maybe every 1k or so, depending on how much sun it sees.
