Do you guys ever get that jinge/rattle/noise on your Dyna's from something that is loose and you can't find it? I sure do.... and I'm beginning to lose sleep over it!! ITS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And to make things worse.. its coming from 2 different places, making 2 different noises. How annoying is that? I've got quite a few french words to say here, but I don't feel it would be, appropriate...
I had the head bolt engine covers, they came loose once and it took me a while to figure it out.
Best I can tell you. Let it run in neutral get off and well, basically,, crawl around the bike and look at whats shaking thats different or isn't supposed to be.
It'll make you even more nervous if you recently had the whole front end taken apart and you get some rattling on the test ride! I found that I forgot to tighten the pinch bolt on my right fork, and the nut was gone. Yikes! Luckily I had one at home that fit, and I got it on and torqued properly, no worse for the wear.
I was getting a rattle real bad - only at high speed last year for about a week I was going nutzo! Turned out the snaps on the detachable visor on my helmet was loose from beating in the wind! LMAO
On my LR there is a small chrome cover at the base of the handlebars. If I'm not mistaken, it just clips on and that was jingling. Now I forget how I got it to stop, but it was driving me nuts.
On the fender straps on the inside of the fender behind the struts are slapping very slightly against the fender making a rattle when I hit speed humps.
Next time I have the rear off I'm going to put a small amount of gel tape under it as padding, I hope it works.
