In short I was cleaning wifes Bob and decided to lock-tight her mirror (aftermarket) since it kept coming loose at its arm. Well.......uh yeah, dropped it. Couple hundred bucks later I have two mirrors sitting here and cant figure out how to change them..........any help out there....
thank you.......
next purchase will be service manual...............................
What exactly do you need to know... What kind of mirrors are they... or are you needing to loosen the loc-tite?
Service manual is a great buy... $60, or less on ebay or through chicago harley...
sorry if post is confusing, I need to remove the mirrors on the bike and install the new ones....arms and all...
The ones on there now are configured like the OEM....
If it's a street bob, there are nuts on the bottom of the hand controls that hold the mirrors on... the left mirror nut also holds on the left turn signal if those are still mounted to the handle bars... the right mirror has an acorn nut holding the mirror on... if it's loc tited on... if it's the blue loc tite, a little muscle and elbow grease removes it... if it's the red loc tite, you'll have to heat it up a little to remove it... hope this helps.
damn dealer sold me mirrors that dont easily fit. I got the right one (one on clutch side) on in 3 mins. The left is a PITA, I have to find some hardware to get the mirror/ turn signal to fit. The new mirrors dont have the bolt attached and coming from the arm, they are standard fit with the threads in the arm. So now I'm stuck because the mirror bolt/ turn signal configuration..............
does anybody know if there is an adapter or is it "hunting I must go"......
