I know this subject has probably been beaten to death. I am trying to look for pipes or slip ons for my 06 dyna. Ive been told so many different things by the dealer I dont know what to believe. In your opinion what is the loudest thing you can go with that wont effect the warranty. I go pick it up on saturday and want to either order or pick up pipes at the same time.
I guess I'll sue my dealer... he told me SE II, Air Cleaner and download WOULD NOT AFFECT MY WARRANTY AT ALL... How about the rest of you guys sueing your dealers to. Because we all have been lied to.....
My dealer honors the warrenty as long as they put the pipes on. Just another way they get money out of you. As for what pipes I got the V&H short shots on my glide. In fact my appointment was today. I can't wait for my buddy to get some pics and sound clips emailed to me so I can hear and see them.
my dealer said it SE slipons would void the warranty unless a HD Dealer installed them.
If they were installed at this particular HD Dealership and a problem arose, "We will do all we can"...
It sure seems that every dealer has their "OWN" idea of what The Motor Company will cover, and what they will not cover. Bottom line is this,... Its the dealer who will bill H-D for any warranty work to be done and they ultimately can either be your best friend or worst enemy. While, I will have a few things done by my dealer, most of the stuff I plan on installing myself. Primarly to save money, but I also enjoy wrenching as well. It seems that now that alot of dealers are saying that if you add a set of mufflers or slipons or whatever and install it yourself instead of having them do it that your warranty will automatically be void. It seems like a way to make the dealer a little money in the service dept. to me, but maybe I'm just a cynic.
Have SEII slip ons that were installed by the dealer. Expecting Big City Thunder baffles to be delivered in next couple of hours via UPS. SEII baffles out new ones in. Still have same pipes, but am supposed to have better sound and performance.
