I have an 04 wide glide and it just started stalling and its just like someone turned the ignition off and back on. Sometimes it just dies at a stop and wont restart for a minute or two. Anyone have a problem like this and what was the issue? Or any other advice? And there are no engine lights or dtc's in the ecm either. Thanks.
Could be lots of things. Is it carbed or EFI? When it dies does it crank and not start or is it just dead?
Well here is what I would check:
1. Battery cables/ load test battery/ check ground strap
2. Bank angle sensor (probably won't throw a code)
3. Crank Position sensor (usually does throw a code)
4. Short in run/stop switch
5. Short in ignition switch
6. Corroded contacts in fuse panel (remove all one at a time clean contacts and lube with dielectric grease.)

Carbon-copy symptoms of when my Crank Position Sensor started failing (in my Jeep!). Hey, a gas engine is a gas engine. Just like someone turns the key off; sit on the side of the road for a minute or five, and it would start back up like nothing had happened. Like KB- sez above, check for a diagnostic code. FWIW.

Had the same problem happen to me last year. I would pull up to a stop sign and it would just die. took my air cleaner off and got to looking at fuel injection area and found a small plug ( looked like it plugged off where a vacuum line would go) that had a got brittle and was cracked real bad. replaced plug. next day went on 350 mile ride no problems! Dealer tried to sell me a power commander to fix problem!
