According to the picture below, which location would be considered "in front of the black clip" - A or B? I'm sketchy on wiring stuff and don't want to get it wrong. [&:]
So far, the hole plug is OK for the plate on mine. Got mine from Ace Hardware, they match the originals perfectly.
"A" would be what I'd consider "in front of the black plug". I would've assumed you would only want to modify the rear fender harness and not the main harness but that's what the directions say.
Installation was actually not too bad, given I'm mechanically declined. It was a little difficult/impossible getting my allen wrench into the top swingarm mount bolt head so I had to resort to some pliers and a lot of loctite. The main plate bolt took a couple of times to thread properly, but, it worked. Running the wire was easy. I ran it along the underside of the swingarm and found a plastic piece on the back of the frame that held the wire going up in to the harness area. Two tie downs on the swingarm and that was it.
For me, on a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being extremely difficult), I'd give it a 5. [&:]
