Madd, I was playing off the situations we've all been in where someone comes over to possibly compliment your ride and will inevitably ask "is that a sportster?"
The one and only time someone has asked me about my bike was at a service station not long after I got it. I was filling up and a guy putting gas in his pickup walked over and asked if my bike was a Low Rider.
I was out working on my Dyna in the driveway when the mail carrier drove up, so I walked over to her jeep to get the mail and we exchange some pleasantries, all the while she's staring intently at my bike and looking confused. Finally she asked The Question. Turns out she rides a Sportster. Her eyes were telling her "that's no Sportster" but the brain was insisting it was just like her bike. I was actually kind of amused because I've read in this forum about people getting asked if their bike was a Sportster, but it had never happened to me.
It beats the Sportie-riding woman I parked next to who glared at me and said, "You know, I can put a bigger engine in this bike too!" Maybe she was sick of people asking if she was riding a Dyna?
