Thanks for all the help yall. Yall were correct, it was a pinched wire around the clutch. The front left turn signal was burning with the light and blinker solid, while the back right turn signal would not work at all. Other two worked great. FREAKIN WIERD!
But thank you all for the help. Now I just have to replace the derby cover, and get a little black wrinkle touch up paint...but until then, time to ride finally!
Glad to hear you found the problem! Remember though, the bike is a thing and can be repaired. Your father-in-law is a person who can make your life miserable every day for the rest of your life...
Personally, I'd let him ride it to keep in his good graces. If momma's happy, everyone's happy after all and she's daddy's little girl!
Well.... my friends (and family) joke about getting to ride my bike, and they joke because they all know there's no f*cking way they are ever going to get to ride my bike. I have made that clear with any bike I've ever had..... "I love you... NO".
I'll take them for a ride on the back.... I flat tell them the truth: which is I would be so pissed if they dropped/wrecked my bike, and they would feel so bad, so I'm going to save both sides from that. There would be that little harboring of 'pissed-offedness' for a long damn time, life's too short for that.

WTF? Not me....I would have his little girl doggie style banging her head against the headboard while I'm yelling "this-is-what-you-get-when-your- Daddy- f#@ks-up-my-bike"
