Default Ricor

SC,

I faced the same dilemna and opted for the Ricor product. My springs have some milegae on them but I was not sure they needed to be replaced. I went with the intimators and figured if I needed springs I could do later.

The intimators beefed up the suspension enough for me that I am not going to replace the springs. I recommend getting the intimators.

I'll definitely add my $.02 when I can. Sadly, I don't really have a 2nd set of hands available to me. I can handle the job alone. I might have to tweak the squeeze clamp idea a bit. It did make compressing everything back down easier by just squeezing the trigger until the cap was sitting inside the fork but then just twisting the cap to engage the threads was a slight challenge, even with a little fork oil on top of the socket to promote it sliding while in the squeeze clamp fixture. I'll try to photograph that next time.

Replacing the front and back shocks is slated for next year. I probably should have done the front sinceI just had it apart. My front end it just too soft in my opinion. I am 200lbs and once I get on the bike the front drops about 2 inches. Is this normal?

Here's the hot set up for single-handed fork cap replacement. XLXR from the Sportster forum fabricated this and I copied it. Yes that is a sprinkler riser used for a spacer on the fork cap socket (from J&P-1 3/8") The clamp/spreader is from Sears. Try to get the in-line trigger vs the pistol grip makes the ergonomics to line it up much easier. The hook goes to the axle.

I'm 220 and ride a 2005 Dyna. Same forks you have. With the INTIMINATORS installed I find no need to change the springs. At 260 you may want to try it first without cutting the spacer.

I was considering doing the Springs but after the install of the Intiminators my first impression was WOW!. I see no need for the springs now that I have rode with the intiminators for over a month and 1200 miles. The Intiminators give the best of both worlds

I have both springs and the INTIMINATORS just have to take the time to install them. Going to try to do it in the next few days.

That looks dangerous. This might be a stretch but do you have some more detailed pics of that? My setup is a bit simpler in design but seems I'd have to modify it a bit to be 100% effective. I borrowed the idea from someone on another sporty forum. Those sporty guys can come up with some stuff, can't they?
