Default Idle Problem

Got a '93 FXLR and when I start it, I of course, pull out the Choke(sorry...Enrichener) **** and let it warm up for the appropriate amount of time. Problem is, when I push the **** back in, the engine won't idle - wants to cut off. I can keep it running with a little twist of the throttle but once I back off, engine wants to die. Common sense tells me I merely need to adjust a jet on the carb (Stock CV) but I wanted to check with someone first who may know more about it than I.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Default Idle

Cleaning is probably a good idea but try adjusting the idle screw. Get down next to the carb and twist the throttle a few times. You should see the idle screw moving with the throttle.

I would want to readjust the throttle cables also and oil them up.
this might help although a manual would be better.

How do you know what the "appropriate amount of time is"? Mine dies with the enrichener in and no throttle till she's good and warm. Could be low idle?

The idle speed adjustment screw is on the right hand side of the CV carb. Turning the screw clockwise will raise the idle. I wonder if the previous owner lowered the idle to get the "harley sound". Also run some seafoam in the gas, about 3-4 ozs. per full tank. You might want to check for leaks at carb to manifold gasket, those act as a vacuum leak.
