Vacation is over and it's back to work. I'm on my way back to Iraq now and already miss home. I've been doing this for 3 years and it never gets easy.
At least while I was home my son and I were able to put about 1200 miles on the bikes together. If you haven't ridden with one of your kids, take it from me, nothing compares to it. There is nothing like riding next to your son and watching him enjoy the thrill of riding on 2 wheels. I'm so glad to see that he has the bug and hopefully we'll be able to enjoy many years of riding together.
I also have an 11 year old daughter who absolutely loves to ride on the back of my bike. She is already talking about when she can ride her own. I can't wait!
Your a good man Jake and we all thank you for it bud. I bet that riding with your boy and girl put a lasting smile on your face for sure. I just took my 8yr old girl for a ride yesterday and she loves riding says she's getting one when shes 16.
Jake, Thanks for your service, you take care of yourself and brothers over there. keep posting!! Get that scratch fixed, could see it in one of the picture on your ride photos
God speed Jake. We'll keep ya posted on all stateside.
btw.. did ya get a chance to get that paint fixed?
I dropped the bike of at the dealership and the insurance adjuster was supposed to go out to look at it. The dealership is going to push for a newly painted tank...we'll see. I don't want anyone but HD touching it since it's a numbered set.
Hopefully the insurance company won't fight the claim as I have the bike fully insured for replacement value and all the mods are insured. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
