Default Battery, Startup Issue

So I left the the key in the ignition yesterday and drained the battery. Took it to the auto part store and they charged it up and said it was good to go. Pop the batttery in and the lights turn on and i put it in "Run" and I hear the hum, press "start" and i'll get is a "click, click, click, click". Is the battery shot even though they said it was fully charged? Another issue?

Let it charge longer.

boost it with a car (the car not running) and ride it around awhile. If it doesn't charge up you will need a new one,or get a batt.tender and charge it yourself until the light goes green.

AGM batteries do not usually recover to baseline after a full discharge like some other type of batteries. The definitive diagnosis of the battery would be to charge it and then check it with a load tester ( which simulates a cranking process) to determine the cranking amp output.

Cables tight? Recheck them.

+1 the battery cables may not be tight enough. The fact that the battery was charged by the auto parts store should have at least been enough to start if the battery cables were on right and tight.

next time charge it with 2 AMPs or less overnight, never charge a motorcycle battery with a regular car charger (most likely what your auto parts store used) as it will cut its lifespan way down

Try cleaning the cable ends and battery connections.

Check the ground cable - both ends. I had the same issues with an '08 Sporty.
