I'm on the down hill side now. This is my first try at painting and so far it has turned out great. The clear will go on in the morning then I can get after putting it together for the last time. I figured while I was at it I would paint the battery cover, electrical cover and dash. I was going to leave them black but changed my mind and glad I did.
back when I worked in a body shape, the painters always sprayed the color coat, then when that was done we refilled the gun with clear and kept going. There wasn't much more then flash time in between

Yep, With the old BC/CC Acrylic Enamel s,Imrons , and others ,that was the case, but most of the newer BC/CC systems of recent the Base can sit up to 24 hrs or more before clear. When I was spraying Spies Hecker about 8 years ago the Rep insisted that I had 72 hours. Considering that most of the better products are based on high air flow booths, it surely shouldn't be an issue in this case to have it sit a bit before clearing .
Ps, you can lightly tack it ,but whatever you do ,don't scuff it before clearing.
Ack, lookin damn fine. I'm kicking around changing colors on mine. You're an inspiration man. Can't wait to see it finished. Gonna have to meet in Prosser or somewhere for a beer sometime. Geez
