Chrome Risers
In the pursuit of a chrome front end on my 08 Fat Bob, I purchased LA Chopper Hefty 6" risers. The first problem was JP Cycles told me the wrong way of measuring my factory risers. I thought they were 5" but they are 4.5". So these 6" are much taller. I installed them and here is the second problem, after everything was tightened down the bars were crooked to the fork housing. Then when I sat on the bike and stood her up I went to turn the bars straight and the factory installed rubber bushings in the fork housing flexed so much the front wheel was still and I could turn the bars left and right 3 inches before the tire would move. Besides getting rid of the 6" risers and putting it back to stock, wich I already did, does any one have any suggestions?
try some poly riser bushings.. your stock ones are rubber. the poly will be harder so you'll get more vibs thru the bars, but they wont flex as much. also i'm sure you torqued them down to spec right?
