First off, I am new here so I would like to say Hi to every one out there. I got my first bike over the winter. Traded my Sportster in for an 08 Street Bob. I didn't make any changes to my first bike, but I am looking to do a lot of work on my Bob. What do you guys think is the best thing to do to a bike right out of the gate. I am having trouble figuring out what I want to do first.
Thanks

Ride it.

Welcome from another newbie.
Get on her and go, enjoy, and this will give you a chance to meet others and see some of the candy that gets applied to them.
It will also give you a chance to figure out a personal wish list. I had things I "needed" before I bought, and made sure the bike had them. Now its a matter of meeting others and seeing some of the trickery and find out where they got it.
Again, enjoy.....

Ride it. Make your own wish list. See what you want to change. Often it's riding position (seat, bars, controls) or sound (exhaust). Other times it's performance or appearance.

put some miles on. you'll know what you 'need' to do first after a couple weeks

I went with heroine first. Whoops I mean pipes. Much the same addiction though. Once the mods start, they never stop! Sooooo much fun though! Welcome.

Welcome, and as the others say RIDE IT! you can't really know what to change til you know the bike. Although cosmetics is always a cheap easy add on, that you can know you want different just by lookin at it.

I would say as others have that you should ride the hell out of it and start listing things you want out of the bike...if i could do it again the suspension would be first even before the pipes because to me it is making the biggest difference in comfort and longevity of my rides just my .02 though

Congrats on your Dyna. Lots of great advice here. #1 is definitely ride it. By riding it, you can tell what you like and don't like. Put together a wish list and chip away at it. Most folks look at replacing the seat, grips and pegs, pipes, and occasionally handlebars or some combination of the above.

Good luck

Yes, Welcome to the Dyna family. WARNING......DO NOT TOUCH A PARTS CATALOG....
That's when it starts. A little here, a little there, and before you know it, you've taken out a second mortgage. I rode mine for a year, compiled my "wish list" and with the exception of calipers, rotors and wheels ( 3rd mortgage) I'm done.

If your looking for performance then go with an exhaust system and air cleaner along with a fuel management system. If your looking for comfort consider a new seat and grips and possibly new bars. If your going for looks get some chrome or LED lights such as brake and turn signals along with LED's for motor. Which ever way you start it will definitely not be the end . As stated previously the ADDICTION is just beginning. Welcome good luck have fun and ride safe.

PS to save yourself some money check Ebay and the internet for what your looking for unless your independently wealthy then go to the stealership.
