I just re-read your orig post and if maybe you did reach the rev limiter. Did the engine just cut and the front end goes down and repeats every other second? That scared me the first time it happened, I was in second going about 70 mph.Is that about what happened? It's just possible with a little moisture from rain or a previous wash the ecm misread and threw you a code. I wouldn't rush off to the dealer. Read those instructions from younggun and clear the codes, you have 'em written down anyway and try her again. The only thing they can do at the dealer is try to re-produce the phenomena by sending someone out on it ,then if that fails they will plug it in to diagnostics which will cost and maybe turn up nothing at all,so you want to pay them or see about it yourself? No harm in trying.

Yes, it was very similar to your description. I was in second gear and she was still pulling hard when it happened. I lost power twice and it was about 1 second apart each time then I freaked out and got off the throttle.
I am with you on trying to figure out the problem without the help of the dealer. I didnt realize I could pull the codes myself. I was able to recreate the error code after clearing. The check engine light comes on at random times, sometimes even at idle. Very intermittent.

WE all get a shock when the limiter kicks in! lol
Intermittent engine light does sound like moisture problem.
Unfortunately I do not think it is a moisture problem…at least not from riding in the rain or washing. The bike hasn’t seen either for 2 years. No, she is not a trailer queen, I just don’t get many opportunities to ride due to the kids!
Since I am able to recreate the error code, I am thinking about trying the advice I found in another thread…change plugs, wires and coil. Hopefully I don’t have to do all three to resolve the issue. Thoughts?
Good luck with that hiccup. Hope it was just something transient.
I have a 2006 FLHT...yesterday I managed to drop the bike while making a U-turn in a parking lot. Embarrasing yes, damage none! So we set her back up and I attempted to start her back up. She cranked off but would not keep running until I turned off the ignition let her sit for about 15 secs then she cranked up. Now I get a check engine light. It comes on like normal (checking for codes) then goes out then comes back on. Guess it finds the code. Bike runs fine....no problems. There is a Power Commander on board. Will the above procedure work on my Electra Glide?
Friggin shame my first post is cause I dropped her...

I would not just throw parts at it, you need to know what is the problem before you can fix it. My 07' Diagnostic manual does not list that code, maybe someone with a diagnostic manual could post the trouble shoot procedure or you could go to the dealer and see if you could look a their diagnostic manual or buy one. If you don't want to properly trouble shoot it then you might actually save some $$ by letting the dealer or indy look at it, they probably have seen this problem before and let you know what it is for 1/2 or 1 hr labor. If you do decide to throw parts at it, do it one part at a time and start with the least expensive.

Thanks for all the help folks. Picked up new plugs and wires yesterday, installed them, cleared the code and took her for a test ride. No more intermittent check engine light and no more codes!!
