Default Need suggestions for new handlebars

Hey out there! I'm a new member and a new rider in need of some solid advice. I just purchased a 2006 Street Bob which I love....except....I do not care for the way the mini ape handlebars steer and would like to replace them. Unfortunately, I really have no idea what kind of bars would be good for me. I am a 5'6" female...not sure if that matters. I like the drag bar look. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. B.

5'6" matters a lot in that your arms are short. Drag bars don't have much pullback, so you're going to be reaching maybe more than is comfortable for you.
Go find a Night Train and sit on it, that'll give you an idea about the reach.

Use a piece of garden hose and shape them to what feels good and then measure and do your homework.

Recently changed my Lowrider from ape hangers to stock Super Glide Custom bars and they are perfect for me. I am 5'8" so we are similar in reach. You may need to go to you local stealer and sit on several Dynas to see what feels right for you. Bars are a very personal thing so it is hard for us to tell you exactly what you need. Personally, I brought home 3 different sets and without removing the packaging put them on my bike to decide what I wanted. Stealer should have no problem taking back what you do not use. Good Luck!!

You might look at changing out your risers along with your handlebars. I'm getting ready to switch out the buckhorns on my FXDC for a set of Lowrider bars and 4" pullback risers. That combo will put my hands in a more comfortable position and pull the bars closer to me. I'm 6' so I don't have quite the same reach problems that you have, but I like the idea of having the bars closer. With those changes I shouldn't have to change any cables which is also a plus. For your needs, I'd look at a combo of pull back risers and a new set of handlebars.
