Default Knocking in front end

Hi all, I have a '09 FXD and just started hearing a knocking type sound in the front end when riding over rough road surface or bumps. It sounds almost like struts bottoming out, but I know that is not the case. Any thoughts?
Thank you.

Steering head bearings probably need adjusted or the tank bolts may be loose.

Lousy stock fork oil. I had the same problem and changed to the next grade up....I think it was Screaming Eagle Heavy Duty, and that fixed it plus got rid of the front end dipping so much under braking.

Might even want to check your pinch bolt, axle and caliper bolts torque values.

I'd have the tank bolts checked and the steering bearings checked.
