I bought those smoked turn signal lenses from the dealer because I like that darker look. Yea, they look cool until you put in the orange bulbs that come with them. Ruins the look of the smoked lens. Needed a darker look. Took a black sharpie and colored the back half of the orange bulbs around the diameter. By coloring the back half, the reflectors in the turn signal buckets reflect the black not the orange. When the bike is sitting the turn signals look almost completely black. When you use the turn signals, the orange front part of the bulbs, shines right through smoked lens like their suppose to. If you don't like the look, simply remove the colored area with some isopropal ahcohol.
Good idea on the bulbs, but if you want it darker, paint the reflectors like mentioned above, but use gloss black. It will reflect more light then the flat black.
