Check the pics on the new thread PIC OF A STRIPPER ON MY HARLEY. Those are black Bassani's, you can also get them chrome.

i think the vance and hines short shots are only like 350 bucks...not bad at all compared to the prices on their others.

from the looks of couple set of pipes here do you have to drop the rear pipe to even check the oil?dont think I would like to have to drop a pipe every time to check the oil

Nah. The V&H pipes curl around the oil dipstick. You can get to it no problem. It's a good idea to wear gloves, or use a rag though. I have zero problem accessing the dipstick on mine.

What are the differences in pipes made for softail models? I can find a ton of pipes for softails that are what I am looking for.

Softail pipes do not have the O2 bungs in them. I also believe that the mounting is different.
