I have 1300 miles on my bike, and it has been services. I say that to say this... When I am starting out in first, when I get to a higher rpm, my engine starts cutting out. I don't have a tach, but I can't imagine it redlining at that speed. I also am getting a lot of pops on decel. Does anyone know what's going on? You can see my bike and setup below I am just surprised to have this happening on a new bike, and I didn't think fi bikes got many pops on decel. Thanks for any advice.
And it looks like you have the stock air cleaner on there. Have you modded the backplate of the aircleaner to allow more air in? If so, that combined with your freer flowing exhaust will completely hose the EFI. That's why everyone buys tuners.
You should be fine if all you did was add pipes, since input stays the same, but like mentioned before if you have no baffles, that's bad. The engine needs back pressure. Also, did you remove the O2 sensors to put those pipes on, or do they have the ports for the 02 sensors?

Your decel pop could be caused by leaky exhaust gasket or lean air fuel mixture. You can run just pipes with out a fuel management system but you may experience decel pop. If its not a leaky gasket and the pop pisses you off enough I would recommed a tune. In addiition any modification you did to your exhaust could cause the pipe to perform poorly, but sound 'better'.
Rev limiter shouldn't cut you out just stop you from going any higher.
Sounds like an exhaust leak to me. I would retourque the exhaust botls again. Mine got loose also and I had to retourque them. One other thing comes to mind. I and others were never able to get the exhaust to seal using the SE exhaust quasket that the instrustion call for. There too thin. Once I put the stock quaskets back in , no problem. It runs lean from the factor and just putting on pipes will make it just a little leaner. I put on a Dobeck TFI and it's the simplest thing ever. No computer or downloads, works perfect and my bike runs great and never anymore popping. I'll still bet it's an exhaust leak.
The speed is around 35. I have done no mods to the ac. I will get a tuner as soon as I can. Thanks guys. I suspect the header bolts might be suspect since I didn't remove the baffles either. I just started having visions of my engine going out and that freaked me out.

ya, check those first. Did you reuse your stock gaskets on the install? Some guys can get away with that but I have heard it is an issue for many who have attempted it. Typically your best to replace them gaskets when you bolt on new pipes. Don't over tighten your bolts in a quest to get rid of your pop, you may just squish some of the gasket up into the opening and end up resticting your flow.
