Default Boy has this place changed!

The last few weeks there has been a number of posts regarding full face helmets, and although still a minority, more and more members are choosing quieter exhaust options. When I first joined up I really felt like the lone wolf with my full face helmet and street legal SE pipes. Nice to see a few others have decided to join me.

I have ordered the quiet baffle for my new exhaust, but I'd prefer to keep it loud.Unfortunately I live in a quiet neihborhood. Picking that up at ups,and my first full-face helmet from the post office in a clean sweep both tonite !

I've worn full face helmets since I was a kid, so that's what I'm comfortable with no matter if I'm on a sportbike or cruiser or dirtbike. Also, I've had enough things hit my faceshield over the years that I can't imagine being out there without it.
And while it is possible for pipes to be too loud, stock is unacceptable on a Harley.

I always wore a 3/4 Helmet unless I had a Chicky on the back, then I would wear my fathers 1/2..I didnt like getting hit in the face with all the bugs and w/e else is on the road, i did like hearing the bike though but the wind noise was way too much for my ears to handle and they would ring and I would get a head ache after I rode, so anytime I used the 1/2 I would wear some ear plugs

I am guilty as well...
Bought some Rush slipons from a member here and sold them...too loud. I have a set of quiet SE slipons coming from another member. The helmet too. I was having all kinds of problems once I started wearing perscription glasses with my beenie helmet. I have a nice 3/4 with face shield and I love it!

I do miss the ol' days with the drag pipes, re-jetting a carb and...er nevermind now that I think about it those were some cold blooded hawgs that took a master's degree in V-Twin to get them warmed up with out stalling. LOL

Won't be that old until December. One of the upsides is that I have got to ride for the past 41 years. And way back then there were way fewer idiots on the road. Growing up in California, you could actually roam the state and keep yur speed up most anyplace, most anytime.

Myself and my passenger both wear full face helmets always. I actually prefer it for reasons already mentioned. Sometimes when riding home late at night from work, the bugs are so bad it sounds like it's raining inside my helmet. I can't imagine taking all those bugs right to the face. Yuck.

I did just buy a new exhaust system on Ebay. If it's too loud though, I got a good enough deal that I'm certain I can get my money back.
