Would there be any inherent danger to the bike to remove the front fender. I can see when riding in the rain that more water would reach the engine. What are the thoughts on this. I love the way it looks with no front fender.
I like the no phender look too. I ran my Sporty without one phor quite awhile. Looks cool as hell, but you will phind yourself actually catching a good deal more rhode dust without it.
Your call, but you will notice all the stuff on the rhode that you didn't know was there.
The cooling fins on your front cylender might bog up with crap depending on where you ride and the conditions. You can always clean it out regularly though.
I agree with phreak that loose gravel would be a problem. Expect more chips in paint & chrome on the frame, engine and other bits also.
What kind of AC are you using? A SE air cleaner for any othe hi flow cleaner may suck up too much water during rain or even wet roads. This happened to a bud with at chopped fender on his sporty.
I recently took mine off and I love the look. However, yes, you do feel everything not attached to the asphalt...right in your face. I don't mind, though, because I live in SoCal and there really isn't much there 9 mos out of the year. As is the case with the engine, your face can be washed as well. Do it.
Just pray that you don't get caught in the rain, the water flies off the tire in front of you and then you ride throught it, you'll have a black streak running up your face. I does look bad *** though.
